If your dog has a special friend he likes to play with, why not invite that dog over to your house for a sleepover?
The two dogs will tire themselves out playing together. When distributing party favors such as toys or chews, be sure to first separate the dogs. Friendship only goes so far with dogs.
And what a gift you're giving to the other pet owner. They have a whole evening free, don't have to take the dog out, and won't be bothered during the night if the dog needs to go out.
Their dog will have enjoyed visiting new scenery, preventing boredom which inevitably leads to trouble!
